Sunday Services

The Sheffield Church of the Nazarene is a Weslyan Evangelical Church (similar to Methodists). The church has been open in Heeley for about 30 years and people of all ages, and from all walks of life, come to seek God and to worship Him. Sunday Services offer a time for us to gather together to thank and praise God for who He is and what He has done. It’s a time to pray and worship together, to learn and be inspired through the Bible and to meet and make friends.

Sunday Morning 10.30 am to 12.00 pm.

This is a busy service that is attended by people of all ages and from different cultures and backgrounds. The service normally has a traditional structure of hymns, choruses, worship, prayers, Bible readings, and there is a sermon or message based on a Bible reading. There is often a “Children’s Talk” to involve the children and to bring the Word of God alive to them in Church. We aim to sing a variety of hymns and choruses, old and new, to reflect the preferences of the people who come to Church. There is a creche room available, if needed, for children under the age of 3. There is a fully staffed Sunday School at about 11.15 a.m for children over the age of 3.
After the service all are invited to stay for a cup of tea and a chance to get to know each other more.

Sunday Evening 6.00 pm to 7.15 pm.

This is a much quieter service than in the morning and is attended by fewer people.
This service follows a range of different formats to include worship, preaching, prayer, Bible readings, interviews and personal testimonies.
After the service all are invited to stay for a cup of tea and a chance to get to know each other more.
